Ramallah, The Palestinian presidency warned of the dangerous repercussions of the Israeli aggression against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, stressing that the insistence on invading Rafah would be a big mistake, putting responsibility on the US administration considering that it is the only one capable of stopping it. In a statement issued today, the official Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh stated, "We hold the American administration responsible for these dangerous repercussions that will have an impact on the region and the world as a whole, due to its failure to intervene in the required manner to force the occupation government to stop invading the city of Rafah and displacing citizens from it." "Had it not been for the US administration to provide financial and military support to Israel, and to prevent its condemnation in international forums, it would not have dared to continue the genocide against the Palestinian people, whether in the Gaza Strip or in the West Bank, incl uding Jerusalem," he added. Abu Rudeineh pointed out that the occupation authorities' continued control of the crossings, especially the Rafah land border crossing, and preventing the entry of aid and the exit of the sick and injured for treatment, are war crimes punishable by international law and a serious violation of international legitimacy resolutions. He reiterated that peace and security in the entire region will not be achieved without a just solution to the Palestinian issue and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, with its Islamic and Christian sanctities.
