Polish Expert in Child Affairs to QNA: Poland, Qatar Share Significant International UN Contributions in Field of Childrens Rights

Warsaw, A Polish expert in child affairs and education Marek Michalak affirmed the importance of the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Republic of Poland and his meeting with HE President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda, in deepening bilateral relations, pointing out that both Doha and Warsaw have significant and notable contributions in the field of education and childrens rights. In an interview with Qatar News Agency , Michalak said that HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser has made great global contributions in the field of children's education, recalling in this regard the tradition of the HH's International Medal Council (Order of the Smile) in recognition of HH's great role in restoring the smile to the faces of children through the support and care she provides to them, at the Council's 25th session of March 2012 in Warsaw. He added that both the Republic of Poland and the State of Qatar have interests in childrens rights and have previously participated in international init iatives in this matter, as Poland and Qatar called in 2021 for the need to defend the rights of people with autism, raise voices against discrimination, and ensure that they receive the necessary support so that they can exercise their basic rights and freedoms, in the joint statement that the two countries presented before the Human Rights Council (HRC) in Geneva at its 46th session, on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day. Michalak expressed his hope that the cooperation agreements between the two countries would result in supporting and strengthening bilateral relations, especially at the level of education, scientific research, and childrens rights, and opening the way for young people in the two countries to learn about the educational capabilities provided by the universities of both the Republic of Poland and the State of Qatar. Regarding the humanitarian and relief role of the State of Qatar, Michalak said at the end of his interview with QNA that the Qatari role in the field of humanitarian d iplomacy and providing relief and aid to countries in times of crisis is a well-known role and highly appreciated by the whole world, reiterating the importance of the upcoming visit in advancing the prospects of bilateral relations to broader horizons in all fields.
