Both the Qatar Chamber (QC) and its Cypriot counterpart called for creating a suitable climate for establishing joint projects that enhance economic cooperation relations between the two countries and achieve rapprochement between Qatari and Cypriot businesspersons. This came during a meeting held between First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, and Chairman of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) Stavros Stavrou and his accompanying delegation. First Vice Chairman of QC commended the relations between the two countries, pointing out QC's keenness to enhance trade and investment cooperation between the two sides - contributing to increasing the rates of mutual trade, which are still below the level of ambitions. He explained that QC is ready to provide assistance and support to Cypriot companies wishing to enter the Qatari market, and to encourage Qatari business to invest in Cyprus, which is rich in many investment opportunities in various fields. For his p art, Stavrou stressed the importance of strengthening the strong relations between Qatar and Cyprus, noting that the two countries share many cultural aspects. He added that Qatar has witnessed great development since his visit in 2012 when he was the Chairman of Cyprus Airlines. He pointed out that the aim of his current visit to Doha is to work on creating permanent communication between businesspersons in both countries, which allows for the establishment of joint projects in both Qatar and Cyprus.
