Qatar Partakes in Int’l Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs

The State of Qatar participated in the 34th International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, which is held in Cairo over two days.

HE Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ghanem bin Shaheen Al Ghanem is representing Qatar in the conference, honoring an invitation from HE Minister of Awqaf of Egypt and President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Gomaa.

The State of Qatar's participation in the conference manifests its commitment to promoting cultural and religious dialogue and international cooperation and enhancing its effective role in the international community.

Held under the title "Cyberspace and modern means of religious speech between rational use and deviating from the seriousness," the conference discusses a number of topics, most notably cyberspace and modern means and their impact on religious discourse, electronic fatwas, memorization and distance teaching, in addition to the irrational use of cyberspace and modern means in the field of Daawa, as well as discussing ways to enhance cooperation between Islamic countries and many issues of common concern.

On the margin of the conference, HE the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs exchanged views and opinions with a number of ministers and officials in charge of endowments and Islamic affairs participating in the conference, with the aim of enhancing mutual understanding and building bridges of cultural and religious cooperation between the State of Qatar and the rest of the Islamic world in the fields of Islamic affairs.
