The State of Qatar participated in the Ministerial Meeting of the Economic and Social Council in its regular session (114), held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo. HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari led the delegation representing the State of Qatar at the meeting. The agenda for this session included several important items, such as the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, developments in the Arab Customs Union, and follow-up on the decisions from the session (113) of the Economic and Social Council. It also covered the Arab food security strategy, support for the Palestinian economy, and other economic and social topics. The preparatory meetings for this session included a senior officials' meeting held throughout the current week, following two meetings held by the Social and Economic Committees of the Council, with the State of Qatar represented by a delegation from the Ministry of Finance.
