The State of Qatar participated in the 23rd annual Ministerial Meetings of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), under the title "building momentum towards Gaborone: partnering for a decade of action and transformation in LLDCs." The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 79th session of the General Assembly in New York. The State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by HE Director of the International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sheikha Hanouf bint Abdulrahman Al-Thani. Her Excellency renewed, in her speech before the meeting, the State of Qatars commitment to achieving the goals of the Charter for the Future and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, emphasizing the challenges facing landlocked developing countries. Her Excellency pointed out that the State of Qatar hosted the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries, where it pledged to allocate $60 million to support the least developed countri es. She reiterated the State of Qatar's commitment to enhancing cooperation with member states and United Nations agencies to support and implement the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
