The State of Qatar participated in the opening of the Global Rail Exhibition and Conference, which kicked off Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in the presence of Their Excellencies the Ministers and officials from a number of countries and CEOs of international companies operating and developing railways. The State of Qatar was represented at the exhibition and conference by HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti. The Ministry of Transport set up a pavilion at the exhibition that featured models and visual presentations on the infrastructure projects for public transport and railways in the country, in addition to land transport plans and strategies and the comprehensive and gradual transformation of public transport buses to 100 percent electric by 2030, in addition to providing an experience to drive the Lusail Tram and tour the Doha Metro train and stations through virtual reality technology. The World Congress on Rail, Transport and Infrastructure discusses many topics related to the transport sector and its laws and legislations, in addition to the shift towards railways and enhancing the infrastructure linked to the latest technology and artificial intelligence systems. The exhibition also brings together more than 100 exhibitors from different countries of the world, to form a comprehensive and ideal platform that enhances communication between specialists and pioneers in the transport, railway and infrastructure sector Source: Qatar News Agency
