The Qatari Junior Handball Team ranked 8th in the 10th Asian Junior Handball Championship currently underway in Jordan through Saturday. The championship qualifies for the World Championship in Slovenia in 2025. The Qatari team ranked 8th after losing Friday to its Jordanian counterpart (20-32), in the matches to determine the rankings. The Qatari team lost its chance to qualify for the semi-finals and obtain one of the qualifying cards for the World Championship, after finishing fourth in Group Two in the main round. The top five teams in the Asian Championship will advance to the World Championship in Slovenia 2025. The Qatari junior handball team won the Asian Championship title twice in 2010 in Abu Dhabi and 2012 in Manama, and came in second place three times in 2006 in Tehran, 2008 in Oman, and 2014 in Oman as well.
