The Qatar U-17 beach handball team will meet their Jordanian counterparts, Wednesday, at the start of their journey in the 3rd Asian Men's Youth Beach Handball Championship, hosted by the Thai capital, Bangkok, and running from October 16 to 25. Seven teams are participating in the championship: Qatar, Oman, Iran, Jordan, China, Indonesia, and Thailand. This competition also serves as a qualifier for the 3rd IHF Mens and Womens Youth (U17) Beach Handball World Championship, scheduled for June 17 to 22, 2025, in Hammamet, Tunisia. The Qatari team aims to win their 1st match in the championship before facing the Chinese team next Saturday. They will then play their 3rd match against Thailand on Sunday, followed by a match against Iran on Tuesday. They will meet the Omani team in their 5th match on Wednesday, concluding their championship journey against Indonesia on Friday, October 25. The Qatari team is looking to secure a top-three finish to qualify for the World Championship for the second consecutive time, after finishing third in the previous edition held in Tehran, Iran, in 2022.
