Ramzi Rabah meets with the Ambassador of the Republic of Egypt to the State of Palestine

Ramzi Rabah, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, member of the Political Bureau of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and Dr. Maher Amer, Director General of the Department against Apartheid in the PLO, met today, Tuesday, with His Excellency the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to State of Palestine, Ihab Suleiman, at the embassy headquarters in Ramallah.

The member of the Executive Committee briefed the Egyptian ambassador on the latest political developments and the escalating violations practiced daily by the occupying state against the Palestinian people, including killing, daily incursions, ongoing settlement, orgies of settlers’ herds, and repeated attacks on religious places.

During the meeting, Ramzi Rabah pointed out the necessity of moving to a comprehensive Palestinian program, in the face of the Zionist project carried by the extreme right-wing occupation government, by combining resistance, politics, and movement on the international arena, and strengthening internal Palestinian unity and cohesion, to come up with a unified program to overcome the state of division, and strengthen Resistance, unity and steadfastness.

Rabah appreciated the Egyptian leadership’s keenness on the unity of the Palestinian people, its factions, and its forces, and the continuation of Egyptian efforts to sponsor and follow up on the comprehensive Palestinian national dialogue, to get out of the state of division and restore Palestinian unity, stressing the necessity of activating the National Dialogue Follow-up Committee, and holding its meetings as soon as possible in Cairo, as a necessity to strengthen its position. The Palestinian issue and confronting international and regional changes, with a unified Palestinian position.

During the meeting, Ramzi Rabah touched on the plan of action of the Anti-Apartheid Department in the PLO, its activity, and the campaign it is organizing to hold forums and conferences at the Arab and European levels, and in Latin America. In preparation for the international conference against Israeli apartheid; It is scheduled to be held in the Republic of South Africa at the beginning of 2024.

For his part, Egyptian Ambassador Ihab Suleiman affirmed the Egyptian leadership’s permanent readiness to contribute to completing efforts after the El Alamein meeting, to continue the Palestinian national dialogue, and to invite the follow-up committee to convene and research ways to unify the Palestinian ranks, and agree on a national program. To end the Israeli occupation, and establish an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, stressing his country’s firm and supportive position for the Palestinian people and bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries
