The Russian Defense Ministry announced Monday that its air defense systems intercepted and shot down 20 Ukrainian drones over the territory of several Russian regions. Twenty Ukrainian drones were destroyed and intercepted by air defense systems on duty last night, the ministry said in a statement. Ukrainian forces target Russian border areas in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, Rostov and the Crimean Peninsula regions with drones and missiles on an almost daily basis. Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, and it does not appear that it is close to laying down its weapons, in light of Moscow's emphasis on continuing its special operation until its goals are fully achieved.
