Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced today that at least 41 civilians were killed and over 180 others injured in a missile attack by Russian forces on the city of Poltava in northeastern Ukraine. Zelensky stated that Russian forces targeted the city with two ballistic missiles, causing damage to an educational building affiliated with the Institute of Communications. Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reported in a statement that the Russian army launched an attack on an educational institution in the city using two ballistic missiles. Attacks between Kyiv and Moscow have continued since 2022 and have escalated with the unprecedented Ukrainian incursion into Russia's Kursk region in August.
