Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah discussed the situation in Lebanon and the Israeli escalation in the region during a phone call Friday with his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdel Aati. Both ministers stressed the two countries' concern over the Israeli escalation in Lebanon, solidarity with the Lebanese people in the current crisis, and the necessity of enabling the Lebanese State with all its institutions to carry out its duties and extend its sovereignty over all Lebanese territories. The two sides also underlined the importance of the international community, especially the Security Council, assuming its responsibilities and an immediate and permanent ceasefire in both Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, pointing to the continuation of coordination between the two countries to deal with the dangers facing the Arab region due to the Israeli occupation's aggression against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.
