SCW Secretary General forms women’s committee for ICT, modern sciences

Lulwa Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), issued Decision (25) of 2024 to form the Women's Committee for ICT and Modern Sciences. The committee is formed as follows: 1. HH Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Member of the SCW - Committee Chair 2. Mariam Ahmed Jumaan, Member of the SCW and Chairwoman of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) - Member 3. Ibrahim Ali Al Burshaid, Assistant Undersecretary for Education at the Ministry of Education - Member 4. Marwan Khaled Tabbara, Managing Partner at Stratum Consulting - Member 5. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Ghani Al Shaikh, CEO of the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance - Member 6. Alya Ali Al Alawi, Executive Director of Strategy and Transformation at Tamkeen - Member 7. Yasmeen Murtadha Al Sharaf, Head of FinTech and Innovation at the Central Bank of Bahrain - Member The decision states that the committee's membership is for two years, renewable upon the recommendation of the Chair and approval of the Pr esident of SCW, with a decision issued by the Secretary General. The committee will hold meetings periodically, no fewer than three times annually, and meetings are valid with the attendance of at least half the members. Recommendations are passed by a majority of attendees, and in the case of a tie, the Chair's side prevails. The decision also stipulates that the committee will submit an annual report with its findings, recommendations, and proposals to the President of the SCW through the Secretary-General for final approval. A technical team from the General Secretariat will be formed to handle secretarial duties and provide technical and logistical support to the committee. Source: Bahrain News Agency
