Mogadishu, Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre on Sunday made a Cabinet reshuffle. According to Somali national new agency (SONNA), Barre appointed Ahmed Moalim Fiqi as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; Ali Yusuf Ali (Hosh) as Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation; Abdullahi Sheikh Ismael as Minister of Internal Security; Abdullahi Bidhan Warsame as Minister of Energy and Water; Mohamed Adan Moalim, as Minister of Posts, Communications and Technology; Ahmed Omar Mohamed, as State Minister of Environment and Climate Change. Late March 2024, the Somali Parliament approved, by a majority, amendments to the country's constitution, including the election of the President of the Republic, who in turn appoints and dismisses the Prime Minister.
