Speaker emphasises Bahraini-Saudi strategic partnership in trade

Manama, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives emphasised the strong and historic ties between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Al Musallam commended the ongoing efforts of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to support the growth of the national economy and empower local products and industries. He highlighted Saudi Arabia's status as Bahrain's biggest economic partner, noting the role of the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council, co-chaired by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia. The Speaker noted the mutual benefits of treating Bahraini products as Saudi products in terms of local content and government procurement. He added that the inclusion of Saudi enterprises in the Local Value Programme in Industry (Takamul), aimed at enhancing "In-Country Value" (ICV) and government procurement preferences, underscores the strategic partnership between the two nations. Al Musallam reaffirmed parliamentary support for advancing cooperation in various sectors to achieve growth and prosperity for both countries and their peoples. He commended the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in Bahrain for its efforts to facilitate the registration of Saudi products in the Takamul programme, which is part of Bahrain's industrial strategy for 2022-2026.
