Washington, Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board, met with a number of international financial, banking and consulting institutions. Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), attended the meetings, held on the sidelines of the Minister and Governor's participation in the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings held in Washington. The Minister met with Citibank, BNP Paribas, Lazard and Center View Partners, in which she affirmed the leading role of the financial and banking sector as a key contributor to economic growth in the kingdom, emphasising its importance in creating investment opportunities. Minister Alkhulaif highlighted Bahrain's continuous efforts to provide a conducive environment for the banking sector. The meetings discussed topics of common interest and the latest developments in the global economy, and underlined the importance of international events that allow for the exchange of e xperiences and best practices between financial and banking institutions.
