New York, Syria and Indonesia signed an agreement that includes mutual exemption from entry visas for holders of diplomatic passports. That came during the meeting that brought together Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bassam Sabbagh and Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi in New York, which reflects the two countries' governments' affirmation of their desire to strengthen and consolidate bilateral relations between them. In the course of the meeting, they also discuss the developments in the region, in light of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinians, the recent escalation against Lebanon, and the repeated attacks on Syria. On the other hand, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bassam Sabbagh reviewed with Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti the various aspects of bilateral relations between Syria and Tunisia, and ways to strengthen its in various fields in a way that reflects the distinguished fraternal relations between the two countries and peoples. Minister Sa bbagh also held a round of talks with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil Pinto, covering various aspects of bilateral relations between the two countries, where the necessity of harnessing all available capabilities to confront common challenges was emphasized, most notably the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the US. Minister Sabbagh also met with his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodriguez, and discussed aspects of the existing relations between the two countries, and the issues on the agenda of the current session of the General Assembly. They stressed the need to intensify coordination and cooperation between them on issues of common interest, most notably unifying efforts in the face of similar challenges represented in confronting foreign interference in the internal affairs of countries, and the inhumane unilateral blockade and sanctions imposed by the US on Cuba and Syria.
