Amman, With the participation of Syria, the work of the 37th session of the FAO Regional Conference for the Near East and North Africa was launched Monday in the Jordanian capital, Amman. Syria is represented at the conference by a delegation headed by the Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Muhammad Hassan Qatna. The two-day ministerial session of the conference will discuss several issues including enabling comprehensive and sustainable rural transformation in the Near East and North Africa, accelerating trade and sustainable consumption, in addition to the shift towards efficient agricultural food systems that are resilient to climate change. The participants will also discuss proactive action to address the effects of the deepening crises, future visions relevant to the region. Source: Syrian Arab News Agency
