Ramallah - Ma'an - The President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, telephoned Jordanian King Abdullah II this evening, Tuesday. During the call, the President affirmed that he stands with the Palestinian leadership and people, alongside the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under the leadership of King Abdullah II, and completely rejects all attempts to tamper with Jordan's security and stability or attempts to exploit the suffering of our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip to tamper with the Jordanian arena, and rejects any external interference in internal Jordanian affairs. The President stressed his confidence that Jordan, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, will overcome all circumstances and remain a safe and stable country, stressing that security and stability in Jordan is a supreme Palestinian interest. He renewed his thanks to the King for Jordan's firm and supportive positions for the Palestinian people to achieve all their legitimate rights, as well as for its endeavors and efforts to work to stop the Israeli aggression against our people, deliver aid to our people in Gaza, and prevent forced displacement, and for the importance of the Jordanian role in protecting the Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem through The Hashemite custodianship of the holy sites. For his part, the Jordanian King thanked the President for these brotherly stances, and reiterated Jordan's continued support for the Palestinian people until they achieve their legitimate rights and establish their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.
