The Security Council stresses the need for investigators to have unhindered access to mass graves in Gaza

Gaza: The United Nations Security Council issued a statement regarding the discovery of mass graves in the Gaza Strip, in which it stressed the unhindered access of investigators to the burial sites to conduct independent and impartial investigations into what happened. The statement said: 'The members of the UN Security Council stressed the need for accountability for violations of international law and stressed the need for investigators to have unhindered access to all mass graves in Gaza to conduct immediate, independent, transparent and impartial investigations to determine the circumstances.' Earlier, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, called for the immediate permission of international investigators to visit the sites of mass graves in the Gaza Strip, in order to determine the circumstances of the killing of hundreds of Palestinians. Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, also called for an independent international investigation into t he recent discovery of mass graves in the Gaza Strip. 'There is a need for an independent international investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice,' Nebenzia said at the General Assembly meeting on Wednesday Source: Maan News Agency
