Council members will hear a briefing from the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wennesland, which includes the latest quarterly report of the UN Secretary-General on the implementation of Resolution 2334 of December 23, 2016, which called for an end to all Israeli settlement activities. The briefing by the UN Special Coordinator for the Peace Process includes the latest developments in Gaza, especially the non-implementation of Resolution 2735 issued on June 10, which welcomed the proposal for a ceasefire in three stages.
