The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) confirmed Monday that a commercial vessel was attacked by two unknown projectiles 70 nautical miles northwest of Salif in Yemen. The UKMTO added that damage assessments were underway and that a third explosion occurred close to the vessel, but there were no casualties on board. The Houthis have been carrying out repeated drone and missile attacks in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Gulf of Aden since November, forcing shipping companies to reroute ships and take longer and more expensive routes around the southern tip of Africa.
