New York: HE the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi met with HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations (UN) Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani at the Permanent Mission's headquarters in New York. During the meeting, the close partnership between the State of Qatar and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was discussed, as well as ways to develop cooperation in order to respond to the record levels of displacement witnessed worldwide. HE the UN High Commissioner for Refugees expressed the United Nations' appreciation for the humanitarian role of the State of Qatar in responding to many displacement situations in the world.
