New York - Ma'an - The United Nations said on Wednesday that the number of Palestinian children killed by live ammunition fired by Israeli occupation forces has nearly tripled since October 7, compared to the previous ten months (115 versus 39). The number of Palestinian children injured by live ammunition fired by Israeli forces has doubled since October 7 compared to the previous ten months (1,411 compared to 615), the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said in its report. The report stated that between October 7, 2023 and August 12, 2024, 594 Palestinians were killed in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in addition to two who died of wounds sustained before October 7. The report said that among these, 577 people were killed by the Israeli occupation forces, 10 by Israeli settlers, and 7, and it is still unknown whether the perpetrators were Israeli forces or settlers, adding that there are more than 100 cases in which Israeli forces detained the bodies of Palestinians.
