A UN official affirmed that about 90% of the population of the Gaza Strip have been displaced at least once inside the Strip, since the start of the Israeli aggression that has been ongoing for 9 months. Head of Office for United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the Occupied Palestinian Territory Andrea De Domenico said during the press briefing that the humanitarian community estimates that the population present in Gaza comprises about 2.1 million people. "At the moment, we estimated that nine out of every ten people in Gaza Strip had been internally displaced at least once, if not up to 10 times, unfortunately, since October," he added. He explained that more than 37,000 people lost their lives, in addition to 110,000 people have left the Strip since October 2023, pointing out that there are between 300,000 to 350,000 people still in northern Gaza who cannot move to the south. The UN official pointed out that those who were displaced in the past two days, following the Israeli occupations orders to evacuate in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, are not necessarily added to the number of displaced people because many of them are already displaced, pointing out that every time people are displaced, they are forced to completely reset their lives over and over again. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) estimated Wednesday that about 250,000 Palestinians may be forced to flee again from Khan Yunis, stressing that nowhere is safe place in Gaza.
