Völler: Germany among ‘the usual title suspects’ at Qatar World Cup

Germany are good enough to play for the World Cup title late in the year in Qatar, according to former great Rudi Völler. Völler, who won the World Cup as a player in 1990 and coached Germany to the 2002 final, told Tuesday’s papers of the RND publishing house that he has a lot of faith in the new-look team under coach Hansi Flick. “I certainly see Germany among the usual title suspects alongside England and Brazil,” the 61-year-old said. “The team has been convincing lately, even if the opponents weren’t a big indicator yet.
