Water Authority: The campaign to remove illegal encroachments on water lines is ongoing, and those who tamper with them will be held accountable.

Ramallah - Ma'an - The Water Authority announced today that the committee specialized in following up on the encroachment on water lines has begun removing the encroachments that were discovered on the Deir Shaar water line in the Beit Ummar area, explaining that after the inspection operations, it was found that there were several encroachment connections on this line, which is the main artery of the Hebron Governorate. She added that the committee formed by the Water Authority, the Local Government, the Hebron Governorate, and the Hebron Governorate Police had uncovered these violations and worked directly to close the encroachment connections, in addition to working to follow up on the aggressors and take legal action against them. As the Hebron Governorate suffers from a severe shortage in water quantities, this has negatively affected the citizens' share in the governorate as a result of illegal encroachments by a group of beneficiaries looking for their own interests without taking into consideration the extent of the suffering they cause to the citizens due to the great impact they have on the distribution schedule from the inability to provide water to the different areas and depriving the citizens of their most basic human rights. The Water Authority confirmed that this campaign is ongoing to uncover all encroachments in various areas and that there will be no tolerance for encroachment on water lines to achieve personal benefits at the expense of the citizen's right to obtain water.
