WHO: Northern Gaza Polio Campaign Postponed Due to Escalating Violence

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced the postponement of the third phase of the polio vaccination campaign, which was scheduled to begin Wednesday, in most parts of the northern Gaza Strip due to the escalation of violence, heavy shelling, and mass displacement orders. WHO said in a statement that due to the current conditions, including ongoing attacks on civilian infrastructure, people's safety and movement remain at risk in northern Gaza, making it impossible for families to safely bring their children to receive vaccinations, or for health workers to do their work. The organization indicated that the final phase of the current polio vaccination campaign aimed to vaccinate more than 119,000 children in the northern Gaza Strip. Source: Qatar News Agency
