Doha: The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and Family and Qatar Fencing Federation (QFF), held a community event, Fencing Festival for community categories and guests of Qatar from Palestine, at the QFF training hall at Maamoura area on Wednesday. The one-day festival brought together a number of amateurs, game lovers, Qatar community members, alongside 20 participants from Qatars guests from state of Palestine. They all enjoyed the festival in atmosphere full of sportsmanship and social connection. The QOC aims through organizing this event to promote sport for all concept, to increase communication between Qatari community categories and residents. In a post-event statement, the Event Director, Abdulla Eisa Al Harami said the Sport has become an effective tool in achieving sustainable development, promoting peace, inscribing the spirit of tolerance, ensuring mutual respect for all. He added that Doha has proven to be capital of global sport and that it will keep taking center stage to bring nations together through sport, as well as to encourage community categories to develop their sport skills.
